The Malayalam film industry has seen some fantastic movies in the last few years like Bangalore Days, Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi, Kammattipadam and so much more. What stays common in all these films is the actor, the man who holds the DNA of the legendary Malayalam Actor, Mammooty. Dulqar Salman made his debut a few years back and has ever since taken the Malayalam film industry by storm one film after the other. And while he made his debut in the Tamil industry with OK Kanmani, it looks like his road to success doesn’t have any pit stops as Dulqar Salaman is preparing to make his debut in Bollywood soon too. Yes, Dulqar Salman will be working on his first Bollywood project opposite the ever loved Irrfan Khan and the much talented and cute Mithila Palkar from Filter Copy.
But apart from the fact that Dulqar Salman will be making his debut, there is something of equal value here. Interestingly, the movie, which would be the directorial debut for Akarsh Khurana, was first offered to Abhishek Bachchan. Reportedly, the actor had to turn down the offer due to dates clash with his currently ongoing JP Dutta’s war drama film Palta where Abhishek will play the lead. However, Abhishek’s loss has turned out to be an offer of a lifetime for Dulqar.
The movie, which will be a road based story, will Dulqars second such film in the same genre after Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi. This new film which is yet to be titled will have Dulqar play a Bangalore-based guy in a light hearted comedy entertainer. As for the date of release, though it isn’t yet finalized on a date, the film is expected to go on floors towards the first week of September.
The yet to be titled project will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Akarsh Khurana will be writing the script along with Hussain Dalal, who also penned the script for films like Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and 2 States.
Dulqar Salam has said earlier has been one of the busiest actors down south, and is it is, a lot of films have been pinned to his name, which are all expected to release within the next few months. His next film will be Bejoy Nambiar’s bi-lingual project named Solo where Dulqar Salaman will appear in multiple avatars. He will also be seen in an extended cameo role in Soubin Shahir’s directorial debut Parava. Some of his other projects include Sukumaran Kurup, which is based on the true life story of Kerala’s most wanted criminal, Oru Bhayangara Kamukan by Lal Jose, and Nag Ashwin’s multi lingual project titled Mahanati, where he portrays the role of the legendary actor Gemini Ganeshan.
