Sushant Singh Rajput who is on the cloud 9 after the major success of his recent released biopic on India’s most successful skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has decided to do another sports biopic , but this time it is going to be quite different.
The M.S. Dhoni :The Untold Story actor is all set to act in an untitled movie which is based on the life of the physically disabled army man who later chose to become a sportsperson , named Murlikant Petkar.
He was the athlete who had made India proud by winning a gold medal at the Common Wealth Games in 1970 and even at the Paralympics which was held in Germany in the year 1972.
Petkar was originally a boxer but later on he switched to swimming as well as took part in various games like table tennis and shot put.
Talking about why did he choose this film , right after doing a wonderful sports biopic , Sushant has an answer for it which goes as “The minute I was done with the story , I was on. I was immediately attracted to this brave heart’s story”.
He also adds “I wanted to do it. Without giving myself much time to think about my choice , I just wanted to do it. What an inspiring story it is!”
“After playing Dhoni on screen , I am very much excited to play this character called Petkar , who never allowed his physical limitations to come in the way of his dreams. I like playing character who dream and aim big!”
This ambitious actor lost a lot of time preparing for Shekhar Kapur’s Paani , but it never took off , to which he shares his sadness “It happens , I gave my 100 % to it , but it went back where it started from , it has been shelved!”
“But no matter what , I cherish every minute , every discussion made with Shekhar Kapur , those things are just invaluable , I wish we could together some time in the future!” he signs off.
As of now , Sushant Singh Rajput is happily working on 4 new projects namely “Raabta” , “Takdum” , “Chanda Mama Dur Ke” and an untitled film based on Murlikant Petkar.
