The war is upon us and it has been reported that India has increased the number of troops by moving them along the border with China due to worsened standoff over Doklam. An operational alert for the Air Force has also been announced in the North East, as per sources. The Border which is a 3,488 km long border stretches across five states i.e Jammu and Kashmir, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, all of which is under heavy security monitoring to  stay alert on the basis of Beijing having intensified its presence at the borders, thus making India and China stand face to face, for war if needed.

For those of you who are not in the know, this situation aroused from close talks that happened between India and China held up the Major General Level at BMP post in Nathu La. During the talks, China stood adamant about making India withdraw its troops from the border line, and India, on the other hand, asking the Chinese government to clear the road-clearing equipment that it had stationed at the border. Thus the meeting turned out to be non-productive and this has led to the major indifference between the two countries.

In order to be prepared for the worst, the Sukna based 33 Corps have amped its annual war exercise operation alert by six weeks, thus making it ready for an attack if things got worse.
The movement is a comprehensive one that includes both men and required armament.
The 4 Corps based in Tezpur and 3 Corps based in Dimapur have been put on alert as well.

As per reports, the Indian Soldiers and armaments have already started making their move towards the operation areas to tighten the security. The three Corps that defends the borders stands guard from the Siliguri Corridor, all the way to Arunachal Pradesh, which in terms of distance would sum to about 1,400km. The reason for the advancement in the troops is a result of the increased threat from China.A senior source in the government as reported

A senior source in the government as reported in a popular newspaper said, “So far, the only war that is being fought is through Global Times. There is so much rhetoric from the Chinese side so it is best if we show some caution.” The exact number of Soldiers and armaments that have been deployed is yet to be clear as officials have refused to give inputs about the same. But a PTI report claims that roughly 45,000 troops which include personnel who have completed the weather acclimatization process. And while these personnel’s are usually kept near borders, not all of them have been deployed at the border.

The Doklam plateau geographically stands at a height of 11,000 feet, which in total goes up to 14,000 feet. In order to attack during the need for it, Indian army and troops will need a group that can operate at such weather conditions. Thacclimatizationon exercise as per the government will be done in two stage spread over 10 days.

A senior officer from the Defence says, “India and China are nuclear nations. Eyes are being shown from their side, we need to be prepared.”
