South Kashmir has been lately in the news for all the wrong doings against people in the area. In relation to this, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) has called a total shutdown in Kashmir as of August 12 as a sign of protest opposing the attempts to abrogate Article 35-A and the atrocities that have been ongoing against the people, most of whom are residents of South Kashmir.
In order to protest against the atrocities, the JRL has appealed the people to take the protests to the streets to stand against the attempts to abrogate the State subject law in Kashmir, which would be in the form of a total shutdown in the state this Saturday, i.e August 12th.
The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) in a statement said that, “Ongoing killing spree, genocide of young Kashmiris, hooliganism of forces in entire Kashmir, especially south Kashmir, NIA/ED terrorism to divert attention of Indian public and international community from these atrocities and ploy to change hundreds of years old state subject law in Jammu Kashmir will face stern resistance from Kashmiris.” said JRL.
The leadership also said that the people of Kashmir will be in for a total shut down on the August 12th 2017 against the Indian plots.
It is yet to be known if the shutdown will be limited for the said date, or will it be continued after the August 12th. For now, the JRL has announced that the state will observe a complete shutdown this Saturday.
