A shocking CCTV footage has emerged at south-east Delhi’s Pul Prahladpur earlier this week in which a 26-year-old woman is seen throwing her two-year-old son down the staircase from the first floor of her house in a fit of rage.
The child, Anshu survived the fall but has suffered head and face injuries and is being treated at the AIIMS hospital.
The accused woman, Sonu Gupta has been charged under section 308 of the IPC which is attempted murder of her child in a complaint by her husband Nitin Gupta, a businessman. She is being interrogated in connection with the incident and will be soon arrested by Police.
Sonu Gupta’s crime was recorded on two cameras that shows the woman throwing the child in a fit of rage following an argument with her father-in-law.
As the recording proceeds she starts throwing things around, then she goes and picks up her child, goes to the staircase and throws him off.When her mother in law see this, of southeast she immediately rushes down to save the child.
Romil Baniyof south-east said. “On January 24, we received a call from Nitin Gupta saying that his wife threw his son off the staircase. We recorded his statement and took the child for medical examination at AIIMS trauma centre. A case was immediately registered against Sonu Gupta and the investigation is on.”
Sonu Gupta’s mother-in-law said: “We were talking and she started fighting over property. While she was shouting, she pulled the child and said that I will kill him and frame all of you. She threw the child from the second floor to the first floor.”
She even alleged that Sonu had hurt the child in the past too and had made calls to the police accusing them of torturing her and her child .She said “I got the CCTV installed so I could get proof of her atrocities,”
