The Former BJP Leader Navjot Singh Sidhu on Sunday has officially joined the Congress Party just ahead of the Punjab Assembly Polls. The Punjab Congress in charge Asha Kumari confirmed this news by saying , “Sidhu met the Vice President of the Congress Rahul Gandhi at his residence and formally joined the Party.”
And according to our sources , Sidhu had earlier expressed his desire to join the grand old Congress Party in the presence of Party’s Vice President Rahul Gandhi but could not do so because the Gandhi scion was out of the country for some reason.
This significant political development comes only months after Sidhu’s wife Navjot Kaur joined the Congress , where she said that , “either he (Navjot Singh Sidhu) or I should contest the Punjab Elections.”

She added , “We don’t have anything planned , we just want to work for the welfare of entire Punjab. One out of us (Navjot Singh Sidhu & Navjot Kaur) is definitely going to contest the upcoming Punjab election!”
She also mentioned that her husband Sidhu would be campaigning for all the 117 Assembly Constituencies in the upcoming Punjab Polls. On which she said, “We are here to develop every quarter , every sector of our Punjab , be it agriculture or the industry. Ours is a golden state and we will make it a number one state in our country soon.”
And according to the latest reports the Congress is planning to field Navjot Singh Sidhu against the powerful Badals in the upcoming polls.
Navjot Singh Sidhu , the former BJP Leader would either be fielded from Lambi where CM Prakash Singh Badal is the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Candidate or from Jalalabad against the Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal.
