Dutt says she is ashamed to be in the same industry as Goswami who called for gagging of media. This NDTV consulting editor, Barkha Dutt, has written a Facebook post criticizing her former colleague for his “cowardly hypocrisy”.
In his Newshour debate on July 26th, Arnab Goswami called some of his rival channels sympathisers of terrorists and propakistan and had asked for rigorous punishment for them. On a strong note, Dutt questioned his silence over the alliance agreement between BJP and PDP that binds them to the talks of the Pakistan and also Modi’s own Pakistan outreach. “But since Arnab Goswami measures Patriotism but such views, why is he so silent? Chamchagiri? “adds Dutt.
Her disgust over sections of media’s silence after Goswami calling them ISI agents still prevails. “Imagine, a journalist actually exhorts the government to shut down sections of the media, misrepresents them as ISI agents and terror sympathisers, calls for them to be tried and acted against. And our fraternity remains locked into politically correct and timid silence,”Dutt exclaims.
Barkha Dutt just hopes that she is someone whose journalism he loathes because it would hurt her to be on the same side as he is.
