An absconding key accused in the murder of journalist Sandeep Kothari has been nabbed in the district, the seventh arrest in the case. The police officials said that the main accused behind the murder case of the journalist Sandeep Kothari has been arrested.One of the Police official said that on Sunday, “Sandeep Kothari, who is a 40-year-old journalist from Madhya Pradesh, and he was allegedly murdered on June 19 by three persons( Narswani and others) involved in illegal mining who kidnapped him and set him ablaze apparently over his refusal to withdraw a court case.”
Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP), Katangi, J S Markam said on Thursday that, “Acting on a tip-off, police arrested Rakesh Narswani, on whom a reward of Rs 30,000 had been announced, late last night from Paraswada ghat area near Bonkatta in Balaghat district”.
Rakesh Narswani and others are killed the Sandeep Kothari on June 19 after he was allegedly abducted. And they are leave the dead body at near railway tracks at Sindi in neighbouring Wardha district of Maharashtra. Later, his charred body was found the police officials.
Police suspected that accused, identified as Rakesh Nasvani, Brijesh Duharwal and Vishal Dandi, who hailed from Katangi, had allegedly kidnapped Kothari and set him ablaze. Markam said that, “adding the trio were engaged in illegal mining and also running chit fund companies.”
The police officer said that, “After the arrest of Narswani we know the total of seven persons allegedly involved in the crime have so far been nabbed”.
