India’s Worst Engineers come from Hyderabad, Study Reveals !

    India is the Hub for Engineers, it’s believed that over 1 million engineers graduate every year, while the graduation rate is very high but the skills set is very low. More than 50% of the engineering students choose software programming as their career and settle for Higher Studies in Overseas.

    South India, Hyderabad the City that sends the largest number of Engineers from the country to the US for higher studies, while the study has revealed that the city has the engineers with low programming capability.

    Here are the results of the Employability assessment tested by a company which shows Hyderabad has the low Skilled Programmers.

    analyzing the student programming skills, practices, and ability to handle runtime complexity and the time taken to run a program. Hyderabad scores the least, just 3.49 on 100, while New Delhi had 23.48 and the Mumbai and Pune regions together, had a score of 17.51.

    “Hyderabad, India, sent the largest number of STEM students (20,800) to the United States and ranked fourth for the percentage of its students pursuing a STEM degree (80%) during the 2008-2012 period,” the report said. “Notably, 91% of students from Hyderabad are studying for a master’s degree, versus only 4% for a bachelor’s degree.”

    In 2015, US granted the visa for 60,000 students from Hyderabad, while the skill rate is still low.

    The Software Programmers are lacking in their skills, only 4.77% of candidates are able to write a correct logic for the program, which is impacting the IT and data ecosystems in India.
