PATNA: BSSC secretary Parameshwar Ram had to face the fury of students. Students were angry because of the alleged leak of question papers of an examination conducted by Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) on Sunday. Nearly 100 students started protesting in front of the commission’s office in Patna and beat up BSSC secretary Parameshwar Ram.

With the time being, the situation went out of control and it became difficult for the police to control it. Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar he has ordered an investigation. It is alleged that question papers were leaked during the second phase of the combined recruitment examinations conducted by BSSC.

At his residence, Kumar said, “I have spoken with the chief secretary and the DGP. I have asked them to conduct an inquiry as soon as possible. I can assure if the allegations are found true, the guilty would not be left. So a probe is on.”

Around 100 students who gathered outside the BSSC headquarters beat up BSSC secretary Parameshwar Ram and at least two other BSSC officials. Police called in a riot-control vehicle, as the students turned violent.

Despite the reports that question papers were sold in the market and circulated by WhatsApp, police and BSSC officials denied the fact.

Patna senior superintendent of police, Manu Maharaaj claimed, “After receiving the reports of leaked papers, we had got the series of question papers available in the market and matched it with the actual question papers but failed to match. But the fact that there were some cases of cheating by some candidates in the examination halls cannot be denied.”
