UPSC Results 2014 to be Announced Tomorrow Evening

The Results of Prestigious examination i.e., UPSC results 2014 are going to be released in the evening tomorrow. It is the examination to select IAS and IPS officers. The results are going to be released by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is going to release the results tomorrow in the evening for which the examinations were held in 2014. This is the first time the UPSC is going to release within four days of the closing date for the personality tests or interviews.

The civil services examination is conducted by the UPSC annually in three stages. They are preliminary, mains and interviews to select candidates for the elite Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS), among others. The civil services preliminary examination was conducted on August 24 last year at 2,137 venues in 59 centres across the country. About 9.45 lakh candidates had applied for it but approximately 4.51 lakh appeared for the examination.

The Constituent Assembly, after independence, saw the need for giving a secure and autonomous status to Public Service Commission both at Federal and Provincial levels to ensure unbiased recruitment to different Services, also for the protection of service interests.

Union Public Service Commission :

The agency’s charter is granted by the Constitution of India. Articles 315 to 323 of Part XIV of the constitution, titled as Services Under the Union and the States, provide for a Public Service Commission for the Union and for each state. The examination is one of the toughest examinations in India with success rate of 0.1%-0.3%.
