England women lift the ICC world cup 2017 women finals by 9 runs in a dramatic match.
Anya Shrubsole won the cup single handed by grabbing 5 wickets for 11 runs.
England batted first giving India a target of 228 runs at the loss of seven wickets. Sarah Taylor was the highest scorer for England with 45 runs off 62 balls.
India lost four wickets for 17 runs after the wicket of opener Punam Raut for 86 runs.
England has won the world cup for the fourth time.
England’s top wicket-taker Anya Shrubsole said “I’m lost for words. For a while it looked like we were out of it, but that’s the beauty of this team. We never give up. It’s been a fitting final for what has been a brilliant World Cup. It’s a final, there’s huge amount of pressure. We never let the run rate get away of us. I didn’t even imagine I’d be here, it’s a dream you never think comes true. To come back to a venue where I first came in 2001, as a World Cup winner is amazing.”
