In a recent mishap in news , which was narrowly escaped by the passengers on the flight to Chennai when a passenger’s Samsung Note 2 accidentally caught fire but the prompt action of the crew members saved the day.
The phone was kept in the hand baggage when it caught fire and was emitting sparks , the fire was immediately extinguished using a fire extinguisher and was later kept in water for the rest of the duration of the flight.
For the safety of passengers and the DCGA (The Directorate General of Civil Aviation) has advised the passengers carrying Note 2 with them not to switch the phone on or plug-in the charger when in flight. The small fire today could have resulted into a greater disaster had it not been controlled on time.
Samsung responded to the fire situation and saying that the customers are its priority and it’ll look into the situation further. With the ongoing overheating and other similar issues in its galaxy note 7 in the UK where the phone is catching up fire upon charging , the company has already started a “replacement program” for the galaxy note 7 users to exchange their phones from the place of their purchase. Even though the production of the galaxy note 7 is on halt , the replaced phones apparently have similar issues as the old ones. With just a recent launch of the phone, Samsung needs to address these matters with very serious approach and needs to come up with a solution for their phones in order to retain their sales for the phone.
