PM Modi & FM Arun Jaitley at the 6th Heart of Asia Ministerial Conference!

    India has pressed for collective efforts and measures against terrorism and extremism on Sunday in order to ensure that resurgent forces of extremism and terrorism do not find any safe haven or sanctuaries in any form , manifestation or name during the ‘Heart of Asia Conference’.

    Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitely was present at the ‘Heart of Asia Conference’ at Amritsar where he emphasised that the neighbours of  Afghanistan have a responsibility in this regard .

    He represented on behalf of the ailing External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and said that there is no need to differentiate between good and bad terrorists and not to play against one other.

    He added , “Taliban , Al – Qaeda , Lashkar – e – Taiba , Haqqani Network and Daesh etc. are the terror organisation and must be treated as such. For a permanent end to terrorism and extremism , we need to adhere to internationally accepted guidelines and redlines which includes renouncing of violence and severing ties with terror groups like Al Qaeda and similar others and we need to have a commitment to ensure human rights and democracy which is essential for a successful reconciliation and lasting peace in this country , Afghanistan!”

    The theme for the ‘Heart of Asia Process 2016’ is ‘Addressing Challenges & Achieving Prosperity’. As Afghanistan is facing a lot of challenges on multiple forefronts , and in order to combat this a focused and sustained support from its allies are required. Which will help Afghanistan to overcome these challenges and achieve durable peace and tranquility.
