Social media giant Facebook which has celebrated its 13th Birthday on Friday today has called this day as ‘Friends Day’. On its 13th Birthday, Facebook has launched several new products aiming to encourage people to use these products in order to make them connect with their friends in a more easier and fun way.
Facebook today has said in a statement that, “Through our friendship our world grows and becomes more connected, powerful things emerge, our lives and communities gets changed. Today, connecting is more important than ever!”

Facebook has hosted its birthday event at its headquarters in Menlo Park , California, where the members or employees who have been actively using the ‘Groups’ to connect with their friends across the globe shared how technology has changed the way they communicate and how it made it easier for people to build global communities and make the vast world a small technological hub.
Facebook, the social media giant has also released its personalised ‘Friends Day Video’ this week that users around the world saw at the top of their News Feed in the Celebration of ‘Friends Day’.

This video is a compilation of user’s Facebook friends and the memories they have had shared together. And for adding the fun element and making it easier to start conversations with friends, the Facebook Messenger will also highlight friendship themed GIFs.
It is also reported that Facebook will introduce more new features or elements in the coming days.
