Lenovo Vibe K5, Vibe K5 Plus Smartphones : The Chinese smartphone maker Lenovo launched two new smartphones called Vibe K5 and Vibe K5 Plus at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016. The company has priced the Lenovo Vibe K5 at $129, whereas the Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus at $149. The devices will be available from March, 2016 in platinum silver, champagne gold and graphite gray colour options. Lenovo’s Vibe K5 Plus has a 5-inch wide-view FHD display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor coupled with 2GB RAM.

Sub-$200 smartphones used to be plasticky, cheap-feeling and just downright bad. Luckily that’s not the case anymore. There are some really great budget-friendly Android smartphones on the market nowadays, and the line between low-end and mid-tier is fading rapidly. Lenovo has just announced two new smartphones at MWC 2016 that aim to perfectly combine affordability and user friendliness.
The Mobile World Congress kicks off today with most smartphone, networking and silicon companies showcasing their latest products and technologies. Both new devices come with dual rear-facing speakers with Dolby Atmos on board, which should be able to bring users good sound quality without the need for headphones. The Vibe K5 and Vibe K5 Plus share most of their hardware platform, as evident by the name. Both have a 5-inch display – 720p in the basic one and 1080p in the Plus model.
The other major difference has to do with the processors – a Snapdragon 415 inside the Vibe K5 and a Snapdragon 616 for the Plus variant. The rest of their shared specs sheet includes 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM, 16GB of storage, plus a microSD card slot and a 2,750 mAh user-replaceable battery.
