Archos Diamond 2 Note, Diamond 2 Plus : Archos has launched two new smartphones namely the Diamond 2 Note and the Diamond 2 Plus. The company will be displaying the handsets along with new tablets at the trade show. While the Diamond 2 Note will be priced at $279 (roughly Rs. 19,200), the Diamond 2 Plus will cost $229 (roughly Rs. 15,700).In this may both the phones run stock Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, and are powered by 64-bit octa-core MediaTek processors: MT6795 X10 (Diamond 2 Note) and MT6755 P10 (Diamond 2 Plus). Archos says that this display is “borderless”, though we’ll have to see the handset in real life to say if that’s true, at least to some extent.

In terms of specifications, the Archos Diamond 2 Note sports a 6-inch QHD display with a 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution and a 2.5D curved screen (490ppi). It is powered by a 2GHz 64-bit octa-core Mediatek X10 MT6795 processor paired with 3GB RAM and PowerVR G6200 GPU. Running Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the device includes an internal storage of 32GB which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.
As the larger of the two, the Diamond 2 Note (seen above) packs a 6-inch IPS display at a resolution of 2560 x 1440 and a 3610mAh battery. The smartphone also packs a 16MP rear camera that supports 4K recording at 30fps, along with an 8MP front-facing camera. On the connectivity front, the device features 4G LTE (Cat. 4),Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, IR Sensor, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB. A 3610mAh Li-ion battery completes the package.
The 5.5-inch display has a max resolution of 1920×1080, with a high pixel density of 400 ppi. Archos opted to use a 20MP Sony image sensor for the rear camera, which is capable of recording video at 1080p. The front camera also has a decent 8 MP resolution. Archos is a French multinational electronics company that was established in 1988 by Henri Crohas. Archos manufactures tablets, smartphones, portable media players and portable data storage devices.
