Apple Acquires Hyderabad based Start-Up Tuplejump: A proud moment for all Hyderabadi’s as technology giant Apple Inc. Acquired machine-learning start-up Tuplejump based in Hyderabad. Apple seeks to expand its business in AI (Artificial intelligence). Tuplejump was founded in 2013 by Rohith Rai and Satyaprakash Buddhavarapu the company operates both in India and USA Apple bought the Hyderabad-based start-up in June. Tuplejump’s deals with processing and analyzing big sets of data quickly with its software.The amount for which the startup was bought is not yet disclosed. It is Apples 82nd Acquisition since it was founded, in the year 1976.
It went unnoticed that the founder of Tuplejump Rohit Rai already began working for Apple since May and is now lives in Seattle.
“Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans,” Apple spokesman Colin Johnson said.
Artificial intelligence is turning out to become a huge and a very special investment field for companies as Google, Facebook and Amazon. The Tuplejump Acquisition is third acquisition for Apple in the AI industry this year, The other acquisitions were Turi which apple bought for $200 million and also a company called Emotient that uses Artificial intelligence to recognize and act upon face expressions, the amount was undisclosed.
Tuplejump has already about 12 to 13 employees, many of whom were already working in U.S.
This year Apple allowed third parties to use Siri its virtual assistant in their own apps, artificial intelligence experts say that this is a key step in improving the product by learning on the Cupertino, Experts say that Tuplejump’s concepts could be applied to services which are cloud based, at Apple Inc.
This is the first Acquisition of Apple in India and this brings a big boost to other startups who are working hard in the field of Artificial Intelligence. And hope to see Apple developing something really big and revolutionary in the field of AI.
