AMD’s Radeon RX Vega 56 outperforms NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1070 by 20% to 32% according to TweakTown’s Benchmark


Radeon RX VEGA 56, a new graphics card which is going to launch on August 10 in the US (Starts shipping on August 15 on PrimeABGB – India based PC Hardware store), reportedly outperforms NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1070 by 20% to 32%. The graphics card sports a 8GB HBM2 Memory (better than GDDR5) with 410Gbps Bandwidth, 56 Compute Units, 10.5 TFLOPS and a 210W TDP.

Expected price in India is around ₹35,000 – the average price of a GTX 1070 in India.

The Benchmark

Settings the games were run at :-

  1. Battlefield 1 – Ultra Preset, 1440p
  2. Civ 6 – Ultra with 4x MSAA, 1440p
  3. DOOM – Ultra with 8x TSAA enabled, 1440p
  4. Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare – High preset, 1440p

As you can see, it outperforms the GTX 1070 in the 4 recently released AAA games.

RX VEGA 56 was a whopping 32% faster than the GTX 1070 in Battlefield 1 at 1440p, and 20% in DOOM. We can expect the average numbers to be anywhere around 20% to 32%.


If the numbers are correct, the RX VEGA 56 might be the new $400 mainstream graphics card for Gaming. Only time will tell though, stay tuned for more updates.
