Abdul Hasan (40) a small farmer, was arrested after his goat babli entered into the garden of a judge’s bungalow in Korea district Chattisgarh, Babli was arrested on Tuesday morning for repeatedly entering the lawn of Hassan’s neighbor, who is a judge . The arrest orders were given by the magistrate Ratre himself.
Several warnings were given to the Hasan by the judge as well as police, but the animal wouldnt listen and repeatedly trespassed.
Mr. Hasan was booked under IPC section 447 (criminal trespass) and 427 (mischief causing damage) based on the complaint of Judicial Magistrate (first class) H. Ratre on Monday.Babli and her owner Abdul Hassan are now cooling their heels in a Janakpur police station .
Assistant Sub-Inspector, R. Srivastav, said
” The goat had many times raided into the garden of the Judge Ratre’s bungalow, located in Janakpur town, about 350 km from Raipur, and ate flowers and plants there, The goat’s owner had been told several times by the judge’s peon to not let the animal graze in their lawn. The goat would eat up all the plants. We received a written complaint from the peon on the basis of which we have registered a case. Investigation is on and the goat has been arrested,”
The accused Hassan, said
“My goat has been brought to the police station, When asked about the fault of his goat he added, “My goat ate up the flowers and vegetables in the lawn of the magistrate.”
Hassan on Tuesday was produced before a court,his bail was refused and he is now sent on a two-day remand and now the the goat has been released.
police said on Tuesday, as the incident gave access to the opposition Congress to slam the State police.
Congress leader Shailesh Nitin Trivedi commented,
“The ‘arrest’ of a goat is ridiculous. Chhattisgarh police has made fun of themselves by doing so Those accused in rape cases are moving freely”.
“The most painful and disappointing aspect is the entry made by an ASI of Chhatisgarh police in diary that the goat used to graze despite several warnings. Chhattisgarh police is communicating with even goats, this is one aspect of the incident,” he added
