Earthquake in Delhi:massive earthquake of 7.5 magnitude on the Richter scale with the epicenter in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan rocked the northern Indian subcontinent around 2:45 pm on Monday. tremors, which lasted several minutes, were also felt in areas around Delhi, parts of Jammu and Kashmir and as far afield as Kabul, Islamabad and Lahore.The US Geological Survey (UGS) put the magnitude of the quake at 7.7, almost the same as the massive temblor that hit Nepal in April.

In most parts of Delhi, people rushed out of high-rise buildings in panic as the tremors continued for several minutes. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage to property in the national capital.

The quake measured 7.5 on the Richter scale with an epicentre at Hindukush region, the Central government said.Associated Press reported that a powerful earthquake was felt in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad.Former Kashmir CM and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah took it to Twitter to say that bad tremors were felt in Srinagar and he had to rush out of the building.
