The Haryana police Special Investigation Team(SIT) probing the Panchkula violence has reported that Honeypreet Insan has confessed to preparing guide maps of Panchkula in a Dera meeting.
Investigators have confirmed that a blueprint of August 25 Panchkula violence was prepared in a Dera meeting held in Sirsa on August 17.
Honeypreet confessed to have prepared the plan and also carried out campaigning through video clips that instigated the crowd.
Dera functionaries were responsible for organising and funding the violence. Police has made reports to the court that guide maps and deployment chart are saved in Honeypreet’s laptop and they want to recover this laptop to get the maps and other incriminating documents.
Police sources said a hard disk, which contains details of transactions worth Rs 700 crore, including those related to property and hawala deals of the Dera, has been recovered and sent for further examination.
According to the police, Honeypreet’s laptop can contain deployment plan, guide maps and details of financial transactions as she was handling Dera’s finances.
Honeypreet misled Haryana police about her mobile phone, claiming it was lost somewhere. Honeypreet’s accomplice Sukhdeep Kaur, who is the wife of Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s driver Iqbal Singh, told police that the mobile was either hidden in a Tarn Taran, village in Punjab, or was in Bijnor Uttar Pradesh.
Haryana Police had filed an FIR against Honeypreet, along with other top Dera functionaries Aditya Insan and Surinder Dhiman, accusing them of sedition and arson. The SIT has so far, failed in capturing the fugitive Dera functionaries. However, Honeypreet has now given some leads about the places where Aditya Insan, Pawan Insaan and Gobi Ram could be hiding. Police now want to arrest Dera functionaries on the basis of the lead provided by Honeypreet Insan.
Meanwhile, the police has also slapped sedition case against Rakesh Kumar Arora, Private Secretary of Honeypreet Insan and her accomplice Sukhdeep Kaur.
The violence that erupted on August 25 claimed 41 lives in Panchkula and Sirsa. Honeypreet was arrested on 3rd October and has since been under interrogation after having evaded arrest for 38 days.
