Bihar Five-phase polls Election Will Start From October 12th 2015


The Election Commission on Wednesday announced that the upcoming Bihar Assembly, Bihar will have five-phase Assembly elections between October 12th and November 5th 2015 and the counting of votes process will take place on 8th November 2015. Bihar Assembly has over 6.68 crore voters.


“Bihar Assembly polls to the 243-seat Assembly, and it will be will be held on 12th,16th,28th October 2015, November 1st and 5th. The term of the current Assembly expires on November 29,”said Nasim Zaidi, Chief Election Commissioner.

And he continued that, “Noting that a number of important festivals like Dussehra, Eid, Muharram, Diwali and Chhath will fall in the election period, the Commission will ensure communal harmony and peace.” according to the Modi announced that a Rs.1.65 lakh-crore package for Bihar in his bid to end the two-decade reign of the Lalu-Nitish combine.


The grand alliance between the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance and the Congress along with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his foe-turned-friend Lalu Prasad and are locked in a close fight with the polls results likely to have a strong bearing on the national political scene in India.

The Bihar elections will have been billed as a must-win for the BJP because it will once again put faith in the political momentum in favour of the Narendra Modi government because they suffer a reversed over a host of issues, that start from its rout in the Delhi Assembly polls and unable to push ahead with reforms like the GST and land bill.
