The former Bihar Ex-CM Jitan Ram Manjhi’s son was arrested by police with more than 4.65 lakh rupees money. In a major embarrassment for ex-Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi ahead of the Bihar polls. Police have suspected foul play by the politician’s kin, the reason behind detention of Ex-CM Jitan Ram Manhi’s son is the imposition of model code of conduct in the state. In view of the forthcoming assembly elections.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer Md. Ashfaq Ansari said that, “When checking vehicles at a checkpoint at Maqdumpur police station in Jehanabad District, The younger son of former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi was Detained after founding of Rs. 4.65 lakh cash in that checking.”
And he continued that, “Kumar was arrested and he was taken to Makdumpur police station for questioning after he failed to give a satisfactory reply about the purpose for carrying the cash, Senior police and civil officials have gone to Makdumpur police station to question Kumar.”
The police officials said that, “A person should not carry more than Rs 50000 in cash with out proper explanation.”
After leaving the Janata Dal United, Bihar Ex-CM Jitan Ram Manjhi had formed the party this year, in the wake of a long-drawn clash with Nitish Kumar over the Chief Minister’s post.
According to the local media reports that, “The Jehanabad police received a tip-off of a vehicle carrying huge amount of cash.”
