The company has also arranged for free of cost credit of 10 minutes of Airtel-to-Airtel calling for prepaid mobile customers with a validity of two days.The company said its services have also been partially disrupted due to power failure and it’s working with local authorities to restore them.

Floods disrupts the Chennai seriuosly Trains, Busses and Flights were delayed and schools and colleges were closed due to as heavy rain distrupt the city for the fifth straight day, bringing it to a virtual standstill. All most 188 people have lost their lives due to rain-related incidents in Tamil Nadu.The company announced auto approval of ‘Talk Time’ credit up to Rs 30 for all Airtel pre-paid mobile customers which it will adjust later once the shops are open and people are able to recharge their phones.

It said that users can avail a free talktime of 10 minutes for talking to other Airtel customers, valid for 2 days. Also, customers will get 50MB of free mobile data to access Internet, which comes with a validity of 2 days. These schemes are only available for prepaid users.Heavy rains today pounded several parts of Tamil Nadu severely disrupting flights, train and bus services and forcing postponment of half-yearly school exams even as the state braced for more showers in next four days.

Airtel further announced that those with postpaid or fixed line connections, who have their bills due, need not pay immediately and the company will not cut off services for the same.Meanwhile, Union telecom minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said on Wednesday that there will be no charges on BSNL bills for a week for Chennai.According to ANI, Prasad said, “Due to rains, there will be no charges on BSNL bills for one week in Chennai starting today.”
