Cancer is a very uncomfortable topic, but do not be afraid to read it, because it will be about preventing cancer through natural substances contained in food. I always tried to avoid this topic because I’m afraid like fire that I will get a bad news one day. Every year I do cytology (for cervical cancer), I examine the uterus (for ovarian cancer) and breast (for breast cancer). When I learned how to prevent cancer, I feel less helpless.
I know that the study does not prevent the disease. I know this. But as my case has shown, the discovery of abnormal cells early enough allows us to avoid cervical cancer in this case (here you can read about my history and how I managed it). This is just a fairly simple case, but how hopeful that we can counteract something, having the right knowledge, but above all implementing it in life.
In fact, it is difficult to say based on what event in the past DNA damage occurred, which after about 20 years led to cancer.
DNA damage -> later is the promotion phase -> then the progression phase leading to cancer -> and consequently to metastases.
Sometimes it takes 10, sometimes 25, and sometimes more years. So the fact that we do not have cancer at the age of 40 does not mean that we will not have it at the age of 65, unfortunately, because it can be a consequence of our behavior right now. That is why it is important to apply prophylaxis all the time.
Food for the Prevention of Cancer
Academic medicine has developed a list of factors that cause the risk of cancer. RISK, not sickness, which means that if you are at risk, it does not mean that you are ill.
All this disturbs the balance between free radicals, destroying cells and tissues and antioxidants that help fight the negative effect of free radicals on the body. Free radicals should be removed from the body on an ongoing basis. And the excess of free radicals is premature aging, civilization diseases, cancer.
It’s better that it’s not just a matter of getting sick. We have absolute influence on smoking (even passive). We also have an influence on what we eat and how we eat. Drinking alcohol – we have an influence. Obesity and lack of movement – we have an influence. There are fewer ones left, for which we have very little influence, or even zero. But we can do anything to take advantage of these possibilities that depend on us.
There is also the question of stress, which belongs to the occupational hazard, and to the lack of traffic. But as I wrote in the article about when stress is beneficial for us, we can believe that if we discharge it properly, we will reduce the risk of negative impact on our body.
What We Have Very Little Influence on
The majority of genetic conditions are believed to have no effect. It is known – genes. But are you sure? No – not for sure! The fact that we inherited a bad gene does not mean that cancer will happen, because for this to happen, we need a triggering factor in the form of the above-mentioned risks. So if we counteract cancer, it is possible never to experience it.
It is better to act here and now, the more that what we can do is not complicated, it only requires an appropriate approach to the issue of food, and actually the amount of vegetables and fruit and physical activity. Because even if there was DNA damage, it does not mean that it will be cancer. And we do not know about the damage until the disease appears. That is why prevention is so important.
We can do genetic tests that are likely to tell us if we are exposed to it in relation to what we inherited from our ancestors. At the same time, not everyone can dare to do it, so why not counteract the emergence of cancer now?
Because the gene has been damaged and the tumor is in the promotion phase does not mean that it will grow. It is only to provide him with nutrients, feeding him will cause progression and lead to cancer. It is as if the tumor in us was waiting for blood vessels to reach it and start feeding it so that it could turn into cancer.
Thanks to the research carried out by academic medicine, we know what is particularly beneficial in the prevention of cancer and we can use it ourselves. Because among the risk factors in the pedestrian place is simply food. Only food and food! That is, natural products with anti-cancer activity. The greatest thing is that we have them at your fingertips. And we do not have to eat them all at once every day. We just need to make sure that one of them is on our menu every day.
Indole-3-carbinol is made of cabbage vegetables such as broccoli, swede, kale, cauliflower, kohlrabi, Brussels sprouts, Chinese cabbage, white cabbage, red, Chinese, Italian. It occurs in the form of glucosinolate released under the influence of myrosinase present in the leaves, activated by breaking, slicing, chewing. I3C accelerates detoxification of the body from foreign substances (those that nature has not created for us) and stimulates DNA repair processes, which may inhibit the development of cancer.
Curcumin is a component of turmeric. Studies in mice have shown that curcumin prevents the occurrence of tumors caused by various carcinogenic factors. Angiogenesis is the process of forming capillaries. In the case of cancer that may have occurred due to earlier DNA damage, it is a process that makes it possible to feed cancer so that it can develop. In this way, micro-gas is transformed into cancer capable of growing and attacking tissues.
The purpose of curcumin is to inhibit the formation of new blood vessels that feed cancer, depriving it of the possibility of taking nutrients and developing cancer.
Epigallocatechin 3-gallate (EGCG) is found in green sencha tea from Japan. It is a very strong antioxidant, sweeping free radicals from the body.
Resveratrol can be found in grapes, and mainly in their skin. It is an extremely effective antioxidant.
Lycopene is found in products with a red color, and especially in tomatoes and their preparations (there is most of them). It is a powerful antioxidant, protects against cardiovascular diseases and cancer.
Omega-3 fatty acids – the most abundant source of acids are fish (EPA, DHA), especially marine, such as salmon, sardine, herring, and mackerel (all wild). Another source is alpha-linolenic acid found in linseed, hemp seeds, pumpkin and their oils.
Selenium – the richest source is Brazil nuts. Protects cells from damage. It inhibits the growth of the blood vessels of the tumor.

We eat all vegetables and fruits, which are a wealth of antioxidants to counteract civilization diseases and stay healthy for as long as possible. In terms of cancer prevention, the following products are particularly valuable (in alphabetical order), for their extra substances described above:

To maintain health for as long as possible, you need water, healthy fats, whole grains, protein, physical activity and sleep. And in addition, do not consume one product non-stop, because, depending on the dose, food can be both a cure and a poison (Paracelsus). In every treatment you apply, there must be breaks.
