A hot November afternoon at the ‘ Mecca of Indian cricket’ i.e. the Wankhede stadium As we can say in the words of former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly describing a place which is the very own backyard of GOD OF CRICKET ….SACHIN TENDULKAR . with the fall of the last west Indian wicket , time stopped to witness the most emotional farewell to the little genius and we all felt the agony of our favourite cricketing hero.
Sachin went to the pitch looked at it so affectionately as if he is going away from his love , his passion, walking through the guard of honor given by teammates, tears poured out as it brought back all the childhood memories, the pride, the legacy of the little champion. Before that the man himself gifted us with a flawless 74 in his last innings which made us chant SACHIN SACHIN one more time.
The man who only expressed himself with his bat, took his heart out in that half an hour speech at the farewell where he mentioned and thanked those who affected his life in one way or the other showing the glimpse of that noble soul which make us admire him the most over the years . All the team members carried him on his shoulders like he carried the expectations of India for 24 years.
Please don’t go sachin , watching you play has been an integral part of our lives and it connected we Indians in one thread, he was a pillar of pride overseas and in India for us as he made the people all around the world admit the greatness of an Indian and admire him. Thank you for all the memories SACHIN you deserved the farewell you got but I understand this must be the longest walk to the pavilion.
“Miss you SACHIN.”
