Well in a recent statement issued by Bajirao Mastani actress Deepika Padukone has made it very clear that she really feels insecure in the presence of Priyanka Chopra.
When the whole world is abuzz with these two Bollywood leading ladies making their Hollywood debut together , this made Deepika say something very harsh. She is actually known to be very articulate and for not mincing her words!
She said “Even Aishwarya put India on the global map , it is not just Priyanka Chopra.”
Not that can be considered to be bit rude with her co-actress Priyanka Chopra who has been working very hard since her TV debut with Quantico.
The critics know it well that Piggy Chops’ Baywatch will have a much bigger impact at the box office when compared to Deepika Padukone’s xXx: Return of the Xander Cage.
Now it all depends on the strength and length of the roles they play in their respective Hollywood debut film.
Deepika talked about the immense contribution by different Indian actors who were capable of making a mark in the Hollywood.
She said it was Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who made the first appearance in Hollywood as the brand ambassador of L’Oreal Paris at Cannes.
Then not to forget the chunky roles played by Anil Kapoor and Irrfan Khan , they did made India proud!
Then lastly , comes Priyanka Chopra who has erased the stereotypes about the Indians in the West with ease.
Deepika Padukone will be playing Serena Unger in her first Hollywood flick namely xXx: Return of the Xander Cage while Priyanka Chopra will essay the role of mean Victoria Leeds in the film Baywatch which is an adaptation of the famous TV show of the same name.
Both of their films will be releasing next year in the month of January , Deepika will act opposite Vin Diesel and Priyanka Chopra will be evil Victoria Leeds for Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
Now it has to be seen if critics’ expectations are true or gets reversed with a powerful performance by Deepika Padukone.
