Yashaswi Jaiswal, the 17 year old who could win big at this year’s IPL auctions

Amid all the cricketing discussions we have had this week, one of the most significant ones has been centered around a 17 year old teenager, who became an overnight sensation after hitting a double century in the ongoing Vijay Hazare trophy. This double century by Jaiswal is only the 9th by an Indian in list A games and with this, he also became the youngest ever to hit a double century in a list A-game. He is also the second player to hit a double century in the ongoing tournament, after Sanju Samson.

Yashaswi Jaiswal has been getting decent media coverage on the back of his consistent performance in the under 19 arena, however, the major success has come in the Vijay Hazare trophy with which, he made his List A debut. In the 5 games that he has played so far, he already has 504 runs including 3 centuries. His scores in the national 50 over tournament read 44, 113, 22, 122 and 203.

Such consistent performance might just see him become one of the hottest contestants to be a part of the upcoming IPL and the franchises will look to grab a chance to include him in their squad when the auction hammer gets in action in Kolkata on December 18th. With IPL odds for Jaiswal looking bright, we can expect different franchises like Delhi and Bangalore to seriously consider including him in the squad. You can also check IPL odds 2020 with 10Cric.

IPL has been a launching ground for a number of Indians and players from other countries. Be it Ravindra Jadeja and Yusuf Pathan in the first season for Rajasthan Royals, Mohit Sharma, R Ashwin, Ambati Rayudu for Chennai Super Kings, Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer for Delhi, Pandya brothers for Mumbai Indians.

With such a glorious history of players using IPL to hit it big, this seems like a perfect opportunity for Jaiswal to get his name under the IPL hammer and attract a license to perform on the big stage which could give him exposure and more opportunities.
