Guru Purnima celebrated across the countries on July 9th, which happens to be a ritual, where the efforts of the teacher and elders, who have guided them to be where they are standing some gratitude. The name itself suggests “Guru Ki Puja,” which means, the Teachers and Elders will be respected for their hospitality and guidance for the younger ones. Logically, the festival origins are of Buddhist, where the Budha has set an amazing example of life and spread it to his students, so the Buddhist celebrates it, but as the time passed by, Hindus have started to honor to pay their respects to their teachers.
The right example was set during time immemorial of Mahabharata, where the Sage Vyasa has mentioned in the Mahabharata book. In Nepal, the festival is celebrated as the “Teachers Day” on the 9th July, and many people of India know the festive as “Teachers Day.”
In India, and Nepal has different ways to celebrate it. In Nepal, Students honor their teachers by offering them Delicacies, Flowers, Traditional items and more. In India, Students will be given an opportunity to be the teacher they have always admired for a day, and take their position for a day. Which is one amazing way to respect the teachers.
