RIP : Debbie Reynold Dies One Day After Her Daughter Carrier Fisher !

    The world did not come over the loss of the legendary Star Wars Actress Carrie Fisher that even her mother Debbie Reynold passed away on Wednesday. She was a Hollywood legend who sang and grooved her way into the hearts of millions of cinema goers in popular musicals like “Singin’ in the Rain”. Debbie Reynold was one of the most enduring , lovely and endearing personalities of Hollywood.

    She breathed her last after being rushed to a hospital in Los Angeles where doctors confirmed her death by a stroke. Her death came exactly after a day her daughter , Carrie Fisher passed away due to heart attack.

    Debbie Reynolds also starred in various films where she starred opposite Gene Kelly ,, Frank Sinatra , Fred Astaire , Dick Van Dyke , Tony Curtis and Donald O’ Connor to name a few. She also received the Best Actress Academy Award Nomination for her 1964 Musical “The Unsinkable Molly Brown.”

    Debbie Reynolds was survived by her son Todd Fisher , who is an actor and producer. She was also dragged into several controversies when her husband singer Eddie Fisher had began an affair with actress Elizabeth Taylor. Later Reynolds and Fisher got divorced in the year 1959.

    And they later made peace together and appeared in the 2001 Television Movie ‘These Old Broads’ written by their daughter Carrie Fisher.

    Debbie Reynolds was born as Mary Frances Reynolds on April 1, 1932. She was just 16 year old when she participated in the Miss Burbank Beauty Contest and was discovered by a talent scout , since then she never looked back.

    Here is when the Warner Brothers changed her name to ‘Debbie’ and in the same year she did her bit part in ‘June Bride’. After that she was signed for multiple films like ‘Two Weeks With Love’ , ‘The Daughter Of Rosie O’Grady’ , ‘Susan Slept Here’, ‘The Tender Trap’, ‘The Catered Affair’, ‘Bundle Of Joy’ , ‘The Mating Game’ , ‘It Started With A Kiss’ and ‘The Pleasure Of His Company’.

    Not only this , she has also performed in night clubs , hosted TV Specials and also the NBC’s popular sitcom ‘The Debbie Reynolds Show’.

    Then she married her second husband Harry Karl , who by profession was a shoe business man but even this marriage alliance ended in early 1970s after he gambled most part of her money , and then due financial reasons Debbie Reynolds had to keep working.

    In 1984 , she married her 3rd husband Richard Hamlett who was a real estate developer , they bought a Las Vegas Hotel and a Casino where she used to perform. But that marriage ended due to financial collapse of the property and Reynold had to file for Bankruptcy Protection in 1997.

    Later she returned to Broadway and took a lead role in ‘Woman of the Year’ and did some short series like ‘Aloha Paradise’ and created an exercise video ‘Do It Debbie’s Way’ and ‘Couples (Do It Debbie’s Way)’ and starred in her 1st TV Movie ‘Sadie and Son’ followed by a memoir written on her ‘Debbie :My Life’ and also did a cameo in ‘The Bodyguard’. And did her last movie called ‘One for the Money’ in the year 2012.
