CMAT Exam 2017 : Application dates, Eligibility criteria, Exam Pattern !


    CMAT 2017 :  CMAT ( Common Management Admission Test ) is all India level common entrance test that is conducted by All India council of technical education (AICTE). All the AICTE approved institutions consider admissions through CMAT test as it reduces the stress of conducting various examinations at each institution.  Around 3500 institutions consider the CMAT score for admissions.


    The organisation has released the notification for CMAT 2017, The registrations have already started and the last date of application was 10th December 2016 but now the date is extended to 15th December 2016. The  Examination will be conducted on 28th and 29th January 2017.

    Earlier CMAT was conducted twice in a year but now the CMAT Examination is conducted only once in the year.

    Last Date of Application : 10th December 2016

    Eligibility Criteria for CMAT 2017 : The eligibility criteria for the candidates who wish to apply for the CMAT exam are 

    • Should be a citizen of India.

    • Should have minimum 3 years Bachelors degree

    • Should have 50 percent of required aggregate and 45percent for the reservation category.

    CMAT  2017 Examination pattern :
    The examination pattern will consist of four sessions : Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation
    1. Logical Reasoning,

    2. Language Comprehension

    3. General Awareness

    Each session consists of 25 questions of total 100 marks.
    Duration of  CMAT Exam :

    The duration of the test will be of three (3) hours, There will be no division of time for each paper it depends on the  candidate to utilise the time to solve 4 papers in the given time. Roughly calculating candidates get 45 minutes for each paper.

    Cutt of marks for CMAT 2017 : The cutoff marks for CMAT will be sectional wise.

    Each correct answer gets 4 marks and each wrong answer loses 1 mark.

    Topics for Preparation of CMAT Exam  :  
    Quantitative Techniques and Data analysis you need strong basic maths fundamentals and should also be through with some of the concepts such as
    • Permutation

    • Combination

    • Probability

    • Trigonometry

    • Geometry

    • Progressions

    • Logarithms 

    Language Comprehension paper, you should be through in some topics like reading comprehensions

    • Vocabulary building

    • Grammatical concepts

    • Fill in the blanks

    • Jumbled sentences

    General awareness the candidates should be aware of the general ongoing news, Highly recommended for candidates to follow newspaper or news websites to be updated.
    Courses Eligible for CMAT 2017 :  The candidates who successfully clear the CMAT examination can select the respective course according to the eligibility criteria.

    Management (PGDM, MBA and similar) : If the candidate wishes to apply for the particular course they should have minimum  three years bachelor degree with 50% of CMAT score ( 45% in case of a reservation ).

    Management (PGCM) :  The candidate who wishes to apply for the course should have minimum bachelor’s degree of three years.

    Management (Executive PGDM) :  The candidate should have a minimum bachelors degree of 3 years with 50 % of CMAT score ( 45 % for the reservation candidates ) also the candidate should have 5 years of managerial or supervisory experience.
