For the people who are planning to make a career in the education sector, or to be precise, those who are looking to become lecturers and assistant professors, there’s some good news in store. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has today announced that the official notification regarding the online registration for National Eligibility Test November 2017 will be released today.
If you are one amongst the prospective lecturers or assistant professors, you can apply for the CBSE NET 2017 exam starting from 1 August. This comes only a short while after CBSE had earlier notified that the UGC-NET for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Eligibility for an Assistant professor (NET) will commence from November 5th, 2017. And to keep things a bit more clear for NET applicants, the Board had mentioned that a detailed notification for the same would be available on the official website http://cbsenet.nic.in, starting from the 24th July 2017. The earlier notification had mentioned that the exam would be held on the November 19th 2017, which has now been prepended to the November 5th, 2017.
CBSE, which will be organizing the examination, is a part of what the Minister of State for Human Resources Development (HRD), Mahendra Nath Pandey, when he told the Parliament that the National Eligibility Test (NET) will be organized by CBSE, in order to maintain a minimum standard for appointment of Assistant Professors for Indian universities or Junior Research Fellowship in Universities in India. And this is a major accomplishment by CBSE, as it had only last year expressed its inability to the HRD Ministry regarding organizing the UGC NET exam mainly due to the shortage of staff as it was already organizing the JEE-MAIN and the NEET.
CBSE UGC NET Nov. 2017 Exam Dates
Below are the important dates for the NET Selection process as notified by UGC NET, which was released on the July 11th:
- CBSE UGC NET Notification Release: July 24, 2017
- CBSE UGC NET exam will be held on November 5, 2017
- Online Application for UGC NET: Starts on August 1, 2017
- Online Application for UGC NET: Ends on August 30, 2017
- Last date for payment of fee: August 31, 2017
