In an attempt to expand the reach of education, Adani Foundation, a part of the Adani Group, inaugurated a special CBSE school, Adani Vidya Mandir (AVM) and a vocational training centre, Kaushal Vikas Kendra at Surguja, Chhattisgarh. Dr Raman Singh, the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, along with other prominent personalities, has already given the go ahead to this initiative that promises to transform the fortunes of Surguja.
Another landmark for Dr Priti Adani-led Adani Foundation
An avid philosopher and philanthropist, Dr Priti Adani, Chairperson of Adani Foundation, has always had a great inclination and reverence for education. Consequently, her vision has translated into the bold education and schooling initiatives taken by the Foundation across rural and backward regions of the country. Upon the inauguration of Adani Vidya Mandir and Kaushal Vikas Kendra, she couldn’t hide her gratitude and the passion for her work.

Catering to 12 villages in the surrounding mining areas, Adani Vidya Mandir will mainly focus on the students belonging to tribal communities. At present, it offers CBSE curriculum till the 10th standard, providing the students with a number of perks, such as free-of-cost study material, uniforms, conveyance and food.
Tackling the issue of upskilling head on
In Adani Foundation’s objective of educating the masses, schooling and professional skill development go hand in hand, which is why the Adani Vidya Mandir was accompanied by the launch of Kaushal Vikas Kendra.
This vocational training centre will equip the tribal youth—girls and boysith relevant industry skills in various trades such as electrical, hospitality, fitter and welder, mining skill with simulator, sewing machine operation (tailoring) supported by a computer lab, library and lodging facilities. It is based on the model of modern workshop having separate hostel facilities for 80 boys and girls. Each of the facilities is inside an integrated lush green complex, encompassing cafeteria and recreation facilities. These facilities are first-of-its-kind in entire Chhattisgarh.

Persistent in its efforts to widen the scope of education, the Adani Foundation lays great emphasis on the importance of quality education in schools. It looks forward to facilitate appropriate and enabling processes for bringing about equitable, gender sensitive and self-sustaining communities.
