A month ago, “Nepotism” had becoe the buzzword in bollywood when kangana Ranaut opened the debate by calling Karan Johar the ‘flag-bearer of nepotism’ in bollywood on the koffee with karan.
Now, Abhay Deol with his recent facebook posts has successfully made ‘racism’ the buzzword.
Here goes Abhay deol’s “taandav” on facebook. Shah Rukh Khan and his “mardo wali fairness cream” wasn’t spared too.
Deol began the series by taking a dig at the country’s obsession with color saying that “we aren’t a racist country and I’ll prove it to you” and backed it with a series of posts.
Abhay Deol today took to Facebook to highlight how fairness cream ads perpetuate and encourage racism and disdain for dark skin.
“No one at the top of their game in any field is going to tell you that it is demeaning, false, and racist. You have to see that yourself”, Deol wrote in a Facebook post.
“You have to stop buying into the idea that particular shade is better than others. unfortunately, if you look at matrimonial ads you will see how entrenched in our psyche this belief is. we even use the word ‘dusk’ to describe the color of someones skin”, he added.
while we do not endorse the idea of becoming fair is equivalent to becoming beautiful. it is a world full of preformed opinions that today fairness has become a criteria for good looks. we believe and stand by our thoughts that dark, fair, dusky, wheatish, any color, creed or sex is beautiful in their own way.
we totally support Abhay Deols stand against racism, influencers should take charge and refuse advertisements on the same.
