Gameplay

As the title suggests, the game is a remastered version of the 10 year old masterpiece – Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare. The campaign is the same, but with improved graphics, physics, sounds, and more. The missions are breathtaking. 10/10 to the campaign!

Onto the multiplayer. Infinity Ward implemented a simple, easy to customize character customization option in multiplayer. AKM is unlocked from the start. There are micro-transactions, such as special weapon models and special uniforms. You can get them by buying supply drops, which are bought with real money.

It’s pretty good actually. But it depends if you like CoD styled multiplayer. Some absolutely love it, some don’t.

As for DLC, there is a map pack for $15 (in the US) or ₹811 currently on Steam as it is on sale (₹1,210 normal price). It includes 4 remastered multiplayer maps from the original game –

  1. ‘Creek’ a wide-open village ravaged by combat.
  2. ‘Broadcast’ an enemy communications building with confined corridors and open parking lots.
  3. ‘Chinatown’ a foggy downtown district, with a neon glow of the city.
  4. ‘Killhouse’ a tiny warehouse for close-quarter chaos (I recommend shotguns or SMGs in this!)

Optimization

The optimization of this game seems to be different for many. Some say that they are getting no lag or FPS drops during the campaign, and the graphics are much better. On the other hand, some say that the game is terribly optimized and runs bad, and skips frames as well.

However, recent reviews are actually mostly positive, and a user reported 60+FPS on a i5 4460, GTX 1070, 16GB RAM system on 4K Maxed Out settings. Another reported ‘silky smooth’ gameplay on high settings with a GTX 750 Ti. I believe if you do some tweaks mentioned in YouTube videos, you’ll have a game that runs great.

Conclusion

I give this game a solid 8/10. In my opinion there shouldn’t have been another variety pack for the multiplayer – the game is a remaster of a 10 year old game, people should at least get the FULL game.

The campaign is solid, the graphics are splendid, the multiplayer is as well, and it’s fun. It’s not ‘pay to win’ so you’re not at any disadvantage from not buying those weapon skins and map packs.

All things considered, I recommend you give it a try. If you’re on PC, ₹1,899 for a Call Of Duty: Infinite warfare which features a solid campaign, zombies, and futuristic-styled multiplayer, along with a remastered version of this game is a sweet deal!
