Bill English is the New Zealand’s Next Prime Minister!

    Bill English is all set to become the next Prime Minister of New Zealand following the surprising yet shocking resignation by John Key this week. Apart from Bill English , the other two challengers for this prestigious role conceded on Thursday that English had secured majority support from the 58 National Party Colleagues in the Parliament.

    And the enxt meeting of the party will be held on Monday where they  will pick the John Key’s successor. It is reported that English has been a trusted Deputy Prime Minister of John Key for the past 8 years and have been praised for handling economy as Key’s finance minister.

    The critics also say that the 54 year old lacks the much needed charisma for this top notch job. English had previously led his party taking them to a huge defeat in the year 2002.

    However John Key has been a popular leader and was widely expected to contest the upcoming 4th election next year but before this he surprised New Zealand the world alike by resigning from the Prime Minister post on Monday.

    John Key said “I wanted to leave while I am on the top of this game and want to spend more time with my wife and children.” During this resignation speech he also endorsed Bill English as his successor to chair the Prime Minister role.

    As a leader , Bill English will have to choose the date for the next year’s elections and before the leadership change most of the people expected that the election will be contested in September but now the law makers are calling for an earlier vote the next year.

    While on the other hand , Bill English addresses the press meeting on Thursday and says that “things are happening pretty fast over the past few days and I wanted to wait until I’m confirmed for this role before I outline my plans for the next year’s elections. So I can’t be talking about be a Prime Minister until I become one.”

    So other two contenders for this role were the Health Minister Jonathan Coleman & Corrections Minister Judith Collins. Both of them have said that Bil English had got major support from the Cabinet and Parliament to be the next Prime Minister and even they will also back Bill English now.

    Coleman said “ I’m going to support him fully , it is an absolute delight to see him winning the Prime Ministerial thing and we are now getting the job of winning the next election done!”

    Well , Bill English has been a well known name in the world of Politics for around 26 years and he was 1st elected to the Parliament in the year 1990. He was 39 year old with pretty much wisdom and experience that time.

    Under Bill English as the Finance Minister now , New Zealand has been enjoying a gradual growth in the Annual GDP of more than 3 % and it looks like that he will try to surplus this after becoming the Prime Minister.

    Bill English also said that he will deliver the tax cuts and spread across the country’s growing wealth to where ever it is needed.
