American automaker and energy storage company TESLA MOTORS has confirmed and all set launch its productions in India this summer.
The automobile company Tesla has its Headquarters in Palo Alto, California and the CEO Elon Musk of the company confirms on Wednesday of launching the cars in India.
The news about the launch came out in social media that the new age electric vehicle making company will finally come to India this summer. Tesla is looking to set-up their plant in India and will bring with it, its roadsters, electric sedan and SUVs to India by 2017.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in July last year had urged the US-based electric car major Tesla to make India its Asia manufacturing hub. He also offered land near major Indian ports to facilitate exports to South and South East Asian countries.
He visited San Francisco last year to promote joint ventures between the firm and Indian automobile companies. He shares his view behind this offer of introducing pollution-free road transport in India, especially commercial and public motor vehicles.
The company was founded 13 years back in July 2003, but it gained widespread attention in 2008 following its production of the Tesla Roadster, the first electric sports car.
The CEO and founder of the company Elon Musk on 1st April 2016 also made announcements on twitter about the brand releasing its electric cars in India.
He twitted,” the incoming Model 3 will be launched in new markets including India, Brazil, South Africa, South Korea, New Zealand, Singapore and Ireland.”
The price of the Modal 3 is reasonable around INR 23lakhs. The car is said to reach a speed of 60 miles per hour in just 6 seconds.
