The specifications are quite powerful. It packs quite a punch with the GTX 1080 8GB GDDR5X Pascal Architecture GPU, which will deliver excellent frame-rates well above 144FPS on 1080p. The processor is also great, the i7 7820HK which has a base clock of 2.90GHz and a boost clock of 3.90GHz.
The AURA RGB Lighting on the keyboard gives the laptop great aesthetics as well. LEDs are embedded in each and every key of the keyboard which can be customized with the ASUS Aura Core software. The keyboard isn’t mechanical though, but a good mechanical keyboard doesn’t cost much.
It’s worth to mention that there’s no ethernet port on this laptop, so be sure to also get a good quality ethernet adapter. This one by TP-LINK has a good rating and is plug and play as well.
In conclusion, the ROG Chimera G703 is an excellent laptop. People would like a variant with a 1440p Display since at high settings it’s still easy for the GTX 1080 to push up frame-rates well above 100.
