Former President APJ Abdul Kalam was on Monday admitted to the intensive care unit of a hospital in Shillong after he suddenly fell ill during a function.
Kalam, 84, was rushed to a hospital, M Kharkrang, Superintendent of Police Khasi Hills, said.
This morning Kalam had tweeted, “Going to Shillong.. to take course on Livable Planet earth at iim. With @srijanpalsingh and Sharma.”
Kalam is India’s most respected nuclear scientist and was operational in-charge of the 1998 Pokhran-II Tests before becoming the President. A lot of people remember him as the man who transformed the Indian presidency during his tenure from 2002 to 2007 by making the Rashtrapati Bhawan much more accessible.
After the news of his falling on the ground it was reported that he has fallen because of illness. But later a news media agency has putten status on twitter confirming the death of APJ Abdul Kalam. India has lost its Bharat Ratna and we could never forget him for his contributions towards the education and other sectors. APJ Abdul Kalam Was the real gem of India who has inspired millions in his life.
Born in a small village of India, stand against the inequality at an early age. Given priorities to the education and the only President who lives in heart of student is no more with us.
